Raja Ampat — "Four Kings" — sits at the epicenter of the Coral Triangle, and no other destination packs this much marine life into a single square kilometer. Expect a slow-travel rhythm: liveaboards weaving between limestone islets, homestays on stilts over impossibly clear water, and reefs so dense with life you barely know where to look.
The diving ranges from ripping current dives at Cape Kri (which still holds the record for most fish species counted on a single dive) to the gentle manta cleaning stations of Manta Sandy. Between dives, hike to the Piaynemo viewpoint at sunrise and you'll understand why this place has an almost mythical status.
