Why visit

Part of the Mesoamerican Reef, with vertical walls minutes from shore and a laid-back island feel.

West End and West Bay for the diving, Sandy Bay for the quiet. Wake up, boat five minutes to the drop-off, do two dives, be back for lunch. Prices are gentler than most of the Caribbean and the reef is arguably better.

Roatan is where you go when you want great diving without paying Caribbean-luxury prices. The reef is dramatic, the operators are experienced, and the island is small enough to feel yours by day three.
